FRENCH EXCHANGE STUDENTS

VCASS is delighted to have welcomed 4 French students from the Lycée Sainte Marie du Port in Les Sables d’Olonne on the Atlantic coast of western France.  Camille, Chloé, Alexandre and Ella were hosted by Belle, Ava, Innes and Sophie (respectively); our heartfelt and sincere thanks to these students and their families for so generously and enthusiastically taking care of our French visitors.  Our ‘Frenchies’ (as they are affectionately known) are in Seconde (equivalent to Year 11)  at school and are part of a group of 24 students and 3 staff members visiting Australia for their International Program.  The majority were hosted by families from Albert Park College and we are grateful to the College for inviting VCASS to be a part of this fabulous reciprocal exchange.  Our 4 students will be travelling to Paris, the Loire Valley and Les Sables d’Olonne in September and will be hosted by their French student.  Our visitors’ time in Melbourne was short, but they participated in two school excursions - the Moonlit Sanctuary on the Mornington Peninsula and surfing lessons in Anglesea; but also myriad opportunities organised by our amazing host families - visiting Warburton in the Yarra Valley; the footy at Marvel Stadium; MYO concert; Luna Park; 1000 Step Walk in the Dandenongs;  Vic Markets and so much more.

We are now looking forward to preparing for the next part of the journey when Belle, Ava, Sophie and Innes travel to France in September!
