134 year 7-9 students. 14 teachers. 3 days of fun!

Once again, VCASS were warmly welcomed to Lord Somers camp on the shores of Western Port Bay for the yearly junior camp, a chance for students and teachers alike to bond and develop stronger relationships to bring back to school.

We started off with a new team building program In Sync, designed to unite the members of each activity group prior to embarking on the rest of the activities. These included kayaking, sandcastle building, t-shirt screen printing, learning about the local indigenous culture, and stand-up paddle boarding. Students challenged themselves, learning new skills and making new friends in the gorgeous weather that we encountered, and some of us were even lucky enough to experience a close encounter with the local pod of dolphins! To quote some of the students, “I made new great friends who have positive attitudes” and camp “was probably the best highlight throughout my first year of VCASS”.

We thank all of the students for representing themselves and the school in such a positive manner, and for participating with enthusiasm. Secondly, a camp such as this is not possible without the support and commitment of all of the teachers who attended, so thank you to all of the teachers who devoted their time and effort to camp this year.

Looking forward to another great camp next year!
