Where Creative Futures Begin
Discover how VCASS shapes young artists through specialist training, academic excellence and a supportive community.
From the first day in our studios and classrooms to the final performance or exhibition, VCASS students experience a balance of artistic excellence and academic challenge. Supported by dedicated teachers and peers, they grow into confident, creative individuals ready to shape the world beyond school.
Balancing artistic passion with academic excellence.
Academic success is at the heart of our programs, and VCASS is consistently ranked among Victoria’s top-performing schools. In 2024, our Dux achieved an ATAR of 98.8, with a school median study VCE study score of 33.
The Academic Program puts into practice processes that significantly raise the standards and learning outcomes of students. Students spend half the day participating in their creative program, and the other half undertaking academic studies.
The curriculum is built around the Australian Curriculum, the Victorian Curriculum and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). In developing student-learning programs for Years 7 to 10, VCASS ensures all students have access to the full range of Learning areas and Capabilities covered in Victorian Curriculum.
In Year 10, 11 and 12, students select from a comprehensive range of studies within the VCE, providing them with as broad a range of tertiary course options as possible. VCE results in the academic areas are remarkable and show that VCASS students are consistently able to achieve outstanding results.
The approach to academic curriculum planning and delivery at VCASS reflects current Department educational initiatives. We have moved away from outdated approaches that relied heavily on rote learning, to one that provides an engaging, challenging and student-centred program, characterised by creativity, innovation, networking and expertise.
How we teach and support
At VCASS our teachers are specialists who understand the unique needs of artistically talented students and provide guidance that goes beyond the curriculum.
Wellbeing is integrated into everything we do. Tailored study plans, mentorship programs and one-on-one learning support help students balance their artistic and academic growth, fostering resilience and confidence.
Here, students are seen, heard and supported.

Like any Government school we get a great classroom education, but we also get to focus on what we’re passionate about.
Grace
We provide a nationally and internationally recognised specialist program for the training of talented young musicians.
Holistic support and wellbeing
We care for the whole student. Our Wellbeing and Support services include an on-site clinical psychologist, physiotherapist, counselling, body conditioning and health and rehabilitation programs, all tailored to each student’s needs.
We create a safe, supportive environment where students feel seen, cared for and able to thrive.
