BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY DANCE PRIX

We congratulate the following VCASS dance students who were selected to participate in this year’s Brisbane International Contemporary Dance Prix in Sept this year. 

Senior Competition | Tawhia, Ashton, Flynn, Pearl and Maddie.

Junior Competition | Mishka, Sharon, Ryan, Connor, Kiera, Chantal, Annabelle and Mika

There were some fabulous successes and many wonderful offers of training, interviews and secondments with dance companies and institutions. 

Mishka, Ryan and Sharon made it to the finals of the Junior Competition. Mishka came third in the Junior Competition and won the Australian Dance Theatre Encouragement award, an outstanding achievement. Flynn and Ashton made the finals of the senior Competition, Flynn came runner up in this highly competitive section. 

Ashton, Ryan, Connor were offered summer school opportunities at Palucca Dance School in Germany, amongst numerous other offers. Maddi was offered a place at the Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional Year. Tawhia and Flynn secured interviews  with Australian Dance Theatre, Chantal and Mishka were offered a scholarship to train with New Zealand School of Dance. Tawhia, Sharon, Flynn, Chantal, Connor and a number of the above, students gained interviews or offers to the Rambert Dance School (UK) and the Australasian Dance Collective.
