VCASS STUDENTS REPRESENTED AT 2021 SEASON OF EXCELLENCE
TOP ACTS 2021
We would like to congratulate all our 2020 students who were invited to perform in the 2021 Top Class Top Acts for Dance, Music, Theatre Studies and Drama and Visual Arts.
Top Class is part of the VCE Season of Excellence managed by Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. The Season showcases work produced by outstanding VCE students who completed performing or visual arts, technology, design, or research studies in 2020. Events are presented at Melbourne’s major cultural venues, alongside associated education programs.

TOP CLASS SOUND 2021
VCE Music Style and Composition
Top Class Sound features performances of original music works by students enrolled in Units 3 and 4 VCE Music Style and Composition, Music Performance, Music Investigation and VCE VET Music Industry (Performance). Only original compositions created or performed for a graded assessment task in 2020 will be considered.
Students of VCE Music Performance, Music Investigation and VCE VET Music Industry (Performance) must apply to be selected Top Class Sound, while VCE Music Style and Composition works will be selected from A or A+ Externally-assessed Tasks. The VCAA will then contact students to confirm that a high quality live performance of the work can be organised.

The Top Acts concert features a representative sample of performers from Top Class Drama, Theatre Studies, Dance, Sound and Music, as well as a few highlights from Top Screen and Top Arts. Unlike Top Class which is presented as a part-concert, part-masterclass event, Top Acts is a fully produced concert with a dedicated Artistic Director – a celebration of amazing work created by talented young performing artists. These three works are amongst just 18 pieces selected for Top Acts, highlights from amongst 150 captivating works presented across the Top Class series.

VCASS is delighted to inform you that Sherylee Campbell performed her VCE Composition Solo from 2020 in Top Class Dance 2021, part of the VCE Season of Excellence.
TOP ARTS 2021
Celebrating over 26 years at the NGV, Top Arts is an ever-popular annual exhibition presenting the exceptional and thought-provoking work of VCE Art and VCE Studio Arts students undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Drawn from a range of media, topics, schools and students, Top Arts is part of the Victorian and Curriculum and Assessment Authority’s annual VCE Season of Excellence. This year three VCASS students were represented. Madeleine Colt, Sarah Jajou and Kyparisia (Paris) Karahalios.

Top Screen celebrates the work and creative processes of Victoria’s next generation of filmmakers. Congratulations Blair Smith.
