After training at VCASS, followed by the Ecole-Atelier Rudra-Béjart, Lausanne, Switzerland, Luke performed professionally with the Ballett Dortmund and Aalto Ballett Theater Essen in Germany. Luke has performed in works by George Balanchine, Mauro Bigonzetti, William Forsythe, Benjamin Millepied, Roland Petit, Cayetano Soto, and Christian Spuck. His own choreographies have been performed by the Ballett Dortmund and the Ballett im Revier. Luke was one of ten arts writers selected from approximately 100 Europe-based applicants to participate in the prestigious Aerowaves Europe Springback Academy dance journalism mentorship programme. He regularly contributes articles to arts magazines including the dance publications Dance Europe and Dance Australia, in addition to the German dance and media platform Tanzweb. In 2015 Luke completed his MA Dance Studies at the HfMT Köln, Cologne, Germany, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Monash University, Clayton, Australia, with support through an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship.
