Congratulations to Adrian Bowler, who has been awarded the 2026 History Teachers’ Association of Victoria Award for Excellence in History Teaching by a Secondary Teacher. The award was formally presented at ACMI in late April.

Adrian received the Excellence in History Education award in recognition of the distinctive and impactful way he teaches History. His teaching is enriched by international travel to both China and Russia, which he undertook to deepen his understanding of the Chinese and Russian Revolutions. He brings these experiences directly into the classroom through photos, stories, live music, and interviews with staff.

Adrian is also known for innovative assessment design, giving students opportunities to demonstrate their historical understanding through creative folio formats, poetry, scrapbooks, timeline collages, and multimedia works. Alongside this, Adrian shows a strong commitment to supporting students, regularly spending significant time outside of class providing tutoring and guidance to help them succeed. Well done Adrian!
