This play is an original performance adaptation of the classic masterpiece ‘The Master and Margarita’ by Mikhail Bulgakov. Set in the late 1920s, on one hot spring day, the devil arrives in Moscow, accompanied by a retinue that includes a beautiful witch and an immense talking black cat, both with a fondness for creating mayhem. The supernatural visitors quickly wreak havoc in a city that refuses to believe in either God or Satan. However, amidst the chaos, the crazed entourage brings peace to two fairly unhappy Muscovites: one is the Master, a writer pilloried for daring to write a radical new play depicting Christ and Pontius Pilate as if they really existed; the other is Margarita, who loves the Master so deeply that she is willing literally to go to hell for him. This fantastical journey will ignite a sense of blissful euphoria as the righteous claw their way to freedom.
